The photographs by Anne Barlinckhoff embody a sense of community which is fostered in this tender imagery — a coming together, a movement rooted in intimacy of connection. The timeless life philosophy of Yin Yang has been a central inspiration in her artistic practice and has formed the central inspiration of this movement. Yin Yang expresses how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. It acts as a modern romantic metaphor of a coming together, of different worlds and points to the possibilities of connection and love found herein.
